John Visits West Virginia: 3

Hi, this is me, John A., again. Pops is letting me share my views of my recent trip to West Virginia on his blog. Gee, I hope you like them.

As you can tell from my expression above, my theme for today is "Rain, Rain, Go away, come again another day! Little Johnny wants to play!"

But rain it did. And so, we finally went to the library. The library in Cross Lanes that my GrandMom built was closed today. Instead we went to the library in St. Albans, where my Mommy went when she was a little girl. You can look on "my" other blog to see her comments about the changes she found at her "old library." For me, my only comment was, I like to look at books. Of course you understand, it is not necessarily in order to read them, that I like to look at them. It is also because I like to change the place where they live as well.

I also like to play with toys that the library provides. They often are very neat as I found out with this unusual maze toy they had for me to play with.

After reading awhile, and playing awhile, it was time to do my other favorite activity, re-arrange the furniture and get people to go along with me. Here you see me hard at work with the chairs. See "my" other blog to see the results of all of my hard work!

Finally, we had to leave. Naturally, I took advantage of this circumstance to play some with my Daddy. It was neat to play like he was a special stilt for me to ride on! He is such a good Daddy to "play along" with me!

On our way back to GrandMom and Pops' house we stopped at their local produce market to get some fresh fruits and vegtables. While there, I discovered they had some birds in a large cage. So while GrandMom and Pops did their shopping, I watched the birds. That was great fun.

It was also great fun this evening after supper. Daddy took some digital movie pictures of me playing. When I asked him, he played the results back for me to watch. That was a lot of fun!

And so, even though it was rainy, and I couldn't go out an play, I still had fun!

John Visits West Virginia: 2

Hi, this is me, John A., again. Once more my Pops has let me use his blog to tell you about my recent trip to West Virginia.

On our second day there, Sunday, we started off by going to church with GrandMom and Pops. Their church is Cross Lanes United Methodist Church. During the service, Pops and I went up to the altar rail for the "Children's Sermon." When Ms Cindy finished her talk and asked everyone to hold hands for a prayer, I grabbed onto her finger for all I was worth, and I didn't let go easily! Later on in the service, Mommy took me out to the toddler's waiting room. The rest of the kids had gone to Junior Church, but there was still an attendant there to be with me. And so I stayed and boy did I have fun! I found several trucks and did my favorite activity, I made a "train" out of the trucks. Finally, Mommy, Daddy, GrandMom and Pops came to get me and we went home. I had a lot of fun at church!

When we got to GrandMom and Pop's house we had a grand celebration. First, we got to celebrate Father's Day again with my Daddy. Those of you who are regular followers of my "other" blog, know that this was a second celebration. I participated by helping Daddy open his gift from GrandMom and Pops.

Next, it was time for me to help Mommy open her birthday presents. She had several and I helped her open each one.

I later helped her by modeling" one of her gifts, it was a blouse, but I thought it made a much better neck-piece! She didn't think so, and eventually she took it back. But I still think it would have made a fine neck-piece!

Later we went outside and played. Daddy had gone back to the Motel Room to watch the World Cup Soccer Match. But I had my own Soccer Game. And of course, I scored the winning goal! Then to celebrate, Mommy got out the bubble mix and she and I blew bubbles for a while.

Then she found a Dandelion and she and I "took turns" blowing away the seeds so Pops' yard would have a lot more Dandelions next year (strangely he did not seem to happy about that prospect).

We finally went back inside where I played with my circus truck until it was time for dinner, followed by Mommy's birthday cake.

I had a lot of fun today!

John Visits West Virginia: 1

Hi, my name is John A. I know I have my "own" blog, but my Pops has agreed to let me use his for the next few days so that you can get MY view of my recent trip to West Virginia to see my Pops and GrandMom.
The first thing I did upon arrival, was thank my Daddy for getting me and Mommy safely here. It is nice to have such a thoughtful Daddy.
The next thing I did was explore "my room" at Pops and GrandMom's house. It has such neat things such as a table with puzzels and books, and a toybench (that was originally my Mommy's), filled with all sorts of neat toys that she and Auntie Martha played with when they were my age. I like my room, and it is the first stop everytime I arrive at GrandMom & Pop's house for the day.
I also like to go out in their back yard and play. That is something I do not have in my New York home! It is a special back yard, most particularly because it has a nice wall for me to walk on.

I also liked to play indoors with all my new-found toys. And of course, I figured these toys needed to be re-introduced to one another after all these years of sitting in a box neglected.
And I like to help GrandMom, and Mommy, with her various chores around the house. I figured it was the least I could do since she was so nice to invite me to come and see her and Pops!
And to top it all, what visit to GrandMom and Pop's place would be complete without a story time done by my own GrandMom. I am such a lucky boy to have such a talented GrandMom!

Well, so much for today. Stick around, there is more to come!
